This summer the Agency will participate in both the 7th Innsbruck Conference on Higher Education and Disability, July 20-23, and the Inclusive and Supportive Education Congress 2010 (ISEC), August 2-5 in Belfast.
Topics for the 7th Innsbruck conference will be 1) innovations in higher education, 2) international educational exchange programmes and 3) approaches to professional development and standards for disability service providers. The Agency will participate with a presentation on the Higher Education Accessibility Guide.
The 7th Inclusive and Supportive Education Congress (ISEC) will be held at Queen’s University Belfast, on August 2-5, 2010. ISEC is for academics, practitioners and policy-makers from all five continents of the globe, who have an interest in promoting inclusive education. The Congress will be comprised of symposiums, individual papers, workshops and poster presentations, under the following themes:
- Diversity
- Inclusive practice
- Debates in evidence-informed policy and effective evaluation
- Children’s rights, voice and participation in education
- Collaboration, sharing and capacity-building to promote inclusion
The Agency will be represented with an exhibition of its newest resources. The Agency will also present during poster sessions and hold a workshop. In this workshop the Agency will share the experience gained working with 27 member during the 14 years of Agency operations and discuss key factors which seem to be important for policy-makers’ considerations of information in the field of education.
