The fourth European Education Summit will take place online on Thursday 9 December. The annual summit is part of the European Education Area, which is a shared vision of more inclusive and modern education systems across the European Union.
Titled ‘The next decade of European education’, this year’s event will focus on the future of education following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Key questions guiding the event include how to make education more inclusive for all and how to improve teacher and learner well-being. Speakers will include representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament and education ministries from across Europe.
As well as keynote speeches on topics such as youth empowerment and the 2021 Education and Training Monitor, a series of high-level panel discussions will also take place. Inclusive education and teacher and learner well-being are among the discussion topics, alongside digital education, education and environmental sustainability, and active citizenship. The event will be closed by a statement from the forthcoming French presidency of the Council of the European Union and concluding remarks from the Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel.
More information, including how to follow the live stream of the summit, is available on the Education Summit website.
