The countdown is on as Scotland prepares to host an international event on inclusion in December.
'Include and Empower', a partnership event between Children in Scotland and Eurochild, is a two-day conference which will consider how to improve the rights and well-being of disabled children and young people across Scotland.
Chaired by Tam Baillie, Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland, and opened by Aileen Campbell, Scotland's Minister for Children and Young People, it will offer an opportunity to share practice and learning with colleagues across the sector, in both the host country and across the EU.
The conference will explore:
- Key successes, challenges and recent developments across Scotland and the EU
- Adapting environments and attitudes to improve well-being and outcomes for disabled children and young people
- Empowering children and their families to lead the planning and assessment of their own needs
- Children and young people’s thoughts on the policies and practices that most affect them.
'Include and Empower' will take place on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December, in Edinburgh.
