The first peer-learning event in the Agency’s Learners and Families Shaping Action (LFSA) activity took place in Brussels on 10 December 2024. This work is part of the Agency’s Thematic Country Cluster Activities (TCCA).
The event was a chance for cluster country representatives to share insights and discuss monitoring and evaluation strategies to involve hard-to-reach families in inclusive education.
Representatives from five of the cluster countries – Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Slovakia and Switzerland – presented information on how learners and families are involved in their countries’ education systems. In addition, Ema Ondráčková presented the work and practices of the Union of Mother Centres in Slovakia, and Elisabeth Gosme, Director of COFACE Families Europe, presented families’ perspectives on inclusive education.
The participants had the opportunity to reflect on the presentations and discuss highlights and lessons learned from them. Overall, the event highlighted the importance of building partnerships with families and their representatives to ensure and strengthen their involvement in monitoring and evaluation policies and practices.
The Agency will use the findings from the discussions to inform the next steps in the LFSA activity, including the second peer-learning activity, which is planned for spring 2025.
More information on all of the clusters’ work is available on the TCCA web area.
