Fostering collaboration between schools, families and communities – peer-learning activity

The second Learners and Families Shaping Action (LFSA) peer-learning activity took place in Svätý Jur, Slovakia, on 12–13 March. The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategies to promote collaboration between schools, families and communities.

On the first day, three panel discussions were held with 16 stakeholders, including representatives from educational institutions and organisations, parents and learners. The discussions centred around building effective partnerships between schools, families and communities to enhance education monitoring and evaluation.

Attendees visited a local kindergarten, a primary school, an arts school and community spaces. They observed learning in action and spoke to school staff and leaders, who presented examples of their practices and processes.

The second day featured international exchanges, as representatives from Bulgaria, Cyprus and Latvia presented their respective challenges and objectives in monitoring and evaluating their education systems. These insights were shared with the Slovakian and EASNIE representatives, in a collaborative dialogue about improving family-school partnerships across Europe.

The event underscored the importance of fostering inclusive policies that actively engage learners, parents, schools and communities in education monitoring and evaluation. It highlighted the value of cross-country exchanges of practices, challenges and ways forward.
